Pre-departure
Alright ...I am in full on preparation mode. Like any good little planner, and any girlie girl (who can't even fathom how one is supposed to pack their belongings into 2 suitcases that cannot weigh more than 50 lbs a piece ...seriously? I know) I am pretty much packed, and the plane ticket has yet to be purchased.
Though honestly - if there are any obstacles any more difficult than packing ...I may have to call it a day, because that was one mountain that I don't want to climb again. I essentially had to break my clothes down into 4 piles:
1. I absolutely HAVE/need to take this
2. I really love this and want to have it there
3. There is a lot of like for this ...what if it is out of style in a year?
4. Just good clothes, I will take it if I have room
And seriously - nothing, and I mean NOTHING from pile 3 or 4 has even touched my suitcases. So that means that I am leaving behind some clothes that I am going to really, really miss. And don't even get me started on the shoes ...I am only bringing 3 pairs of heels. It started out with 2 - a brown pair and a black pair. Then I realized that there is almost as much difference between pointy toe and rounded toe as there is with black leather and patent black leather. What is a girl to do? So I went with the black leather rounded toe and the black patent pointy toe ...and then some really cute brown pointy toed shoes. But I will pine those that I leave behind.
Okay - anyways ...where was I? My clothes rants could take up about 4 months of your time. Essentially we are just waiting on the final paperwork to come through (I had to send yet another copy of my Guelph transcripts over there yesterday ...geez) and then they will be booking us a flight and we will be on our way!
And on our way to what exactly? I'm not really sure. Every time someone asks me any type of detailed question, I digress to Wayne and let him deal with it. I feel that going in somewhat blindly will eleviate a good deal of stress and allow me to not hyperventilate on the plane or when saying goodbye to my parents at the airport. Not even sure how I am going to be able to deal with that.
Anyways, that's my status as of right now. A few more finishing touches to the suitcase needed, our visas need to arrive and we are on our way!
Have I mentioned that Wayne hasn't started packing yet?
